Overview:
Natta were contracted to undertake the groundworks for the construction of a new Bio Science Building at the University of Brighton. Natta’s logistical planning and a close working relationship with the client enabled the construction of the deep works whilst working within tight confines surrounded by roads and existing buildings.

Scope of Works:
Natta were appointed as the groundwork sub contractor and the works included reducing the level excavations and the installation of piling mats. Pile attendance to piling contractor, excavation and breakdown of piles and pile caps and capping beams. The demolition of existing retaining walls and installation of crane bases. The construction of reinforced floors and retaining walls using waterproof concrete. Internal drainage and services. External drainage and connection to existing sewers. Cellular type soakaways. External paving and roadworks consisting of block paving, slabs, kerbs, Aco drain and tarmac access road.
