Construction of a new Police Headquarters for Southampton. This site was an old storage area bounded by major roads all four sides. The existing ground was split into three catergories of inert, non hazardous and hazardous which had to be dealt with as they arose. An existing pylon had to be removed which meant phasing the works due to live cables running through the site.
Scope of Works:
Natta was appointed as the sub contractor for the groundworks package. The works involved the
installation of the piling mat, pile attendance, the excavation and construction of the pile caps. A tower crane base was
constructed and the ground floor construction incorporated both powerfloat and brush finished concrete floors. Other works
included drainage, duct works road construction and retaining wall construction. Waterproofing and gas membane to building.
Concrete structural topping to custody suite roof and all external paving works.
