Construction of 11 new staff accommodation blocks at the North Hants Hospital, Basingstoke. Constructed in a phased sequence as the new accommodation was located on the exising site and the Hospital required a minimum number of rooms. Natta were contracted to construct the groundworks for a 4 storey timber frame structures encompassing all drainage, services and external works. Including the construction of a split level administration building with an in-situ curved and sloping roof, with Natta undertaking all temporary and false works design and installation.
Scope of Works:
The work comprised the initial site clearance and cut and fill. The excavation and concrete to strip footings
and sub structure brick and block work. The construction of a block and beam floor. All internal drainage and service. The face brickwork
and curved reinforced concrete two storey building with a basement. The construction of brick retaining walls and concrete and brick bin stores.
The excavation of 3m to 4m deep drainage to connect to existing systems.
The installation of an Aquacell soakaway system. Other works included street lighting ducts, permeable block paving, a new tarmac
access road and footpaths.
