The contract comprised all associated ground works for a number of new housing, teaching and administration buildings along with the refurbishment of a number of other buildings inside a prison.
Scope of Works:
Natta successfully completed the drainage, foundations and ground floor
slabs for 2 prisoner housing blocks, each comprising 196 cells with administration and communal areas. The lack
of prison space at the time of construction demanded a very fast build, with precast panels being used on top of the
substructure to form a habitable block in less than 12 months. The work included bulk muck shift of
20,000m3. Concrete foundations 2m in depth. Concreteing of 2 no. reinforced
slabs, and a brushed finish concrete path. Foul drainage and deep soakaway drains.
Erection of precast retaining wall sections. Installation of numerous service ducts throughout site.
Diversion of drainage and services prior to construction of foundations for extensions to the visitor centre, gymnasium
facilities, raised walkway and security fence.
