The construction of a new Household Waste Recycling Centres in the Hampshire to meet the growing ecological constraints to re-use as much waste as possible. Natta were awarded three contracts by Hampshire C.C. in open competition and quickly established the company at the leading edge of making the construction and operation of these vital centres as efficient to both operators and users. The Winchester site was complete new build with access roads and sheet piled retaining walls, whereas the Basingstoke site was a conversion and enlargement of the existing which remained open to the public at all times.
Scope of Works:
As Main Contractor Natta were responsible for the site clearance, reinforced concrete and sheet piled
retaining walls, drainage and external works together with all hard landscaping. The works were completed on programme, on budget,
and snag free at handover. The specification for both contracts required the incorporation of as much recycled materials as possible
without compromise to quality or durability.
