To prevent further coastal erosion Hampshire County Council embarked on the upgrading of the existing sea defences on the foreshore at Lepe Country Park. The site was a protected SSSI area and work had to be completed before the new breeding season for shore and marshland birds.
Scope of Works:
As Main Contractor Natta were responsible for the site clearance, driven sheet, and H piles, reinforced
concrete curved section sea wall, revetment blocks and reinstatement of adjoining roads and footpaths. Particular care had to be
taken during piling operations as the HV feed to the Isle of Wight passed under the location of the new sea wall.
