Summary:
Due to the successful
delivery of phase one of this project, Natta Building won the tender for phase
two, a £1.3m contract to construct a five acre car park built on the original
site of the hospital. The project was to construct a car park for 440 vehicles
with all associated drainage, services, hard standing and finishing works.
A single storey structure also had to be built with an associated base to
house the oxygen tank which will supply the new hospital.
Scope of Works:
The project involved the following works:-
Installation of 3No. 35000 litre retention tank.
2No. petrol interceptors, with associated alarms.
A 12mlong, 3m deep heading under the busy A306 and associated connection
to the existing manhole.
Althon and Aco channel drainage (all sizes);
Kerb drain and 4m deep 450 diameter land drain.
Hydrobrake installation.
Construction of 17m x 7m single storey building, including associated
foundation, structural steel frame, brickwork, insulation and water proof
membrane, ground slab and Kalzip aluminium roof.
Service duct installation.
Constructing the formation, 6F2 and Type 1.
Macadam surfacing, and all associated and white lining.
Timber cladding to sheet piles (cedar cladding).
Paving - Saxon slabs, Tescina and Tegula blocks, Tegula setts.
Resin bonded surfacing - Sureset.
Installation of kerbs and edgings.
Fencing - including timber hit and miss, chain link and metal rod fencing
with associated metal gates.
Metal work - including 1.5m high handrails,
Street furniture - including bollards, cycle stands and benches.
Brick retaining walls.
Brushed concrete slabs and walkways.
