New Appointment to the Natta Board

As part of the ongoing restructure and continued expansion plan, Huw Rees has been newly appointed to the Natta Building Company Board as Technical Director.

Managing Director, John E Whelan commented, “This appointment is in recognition of all the hard work that Huw does and his efforts in defining the Technical Department. As a relatively new area of the business, Huw has harnessed Natta’s capabilities in pre-commencement works, in-house design, value engineering, geo environmental and innovation.”

He continued, “Under Huw’s stewardship the Technical Department has gone from strength to strength. His area provides cost saving benefits for the company and broadens our offering of services to our clients. Huw will be instrumental in the strategic development of Natta going forward.”

Huw Rees joined Natta in 2005 as a Project Manager at the White City (Westfield) development.  In 2008 he transferred to the pre-construction side of the business, working as a Senior Estimator before setting up and leading the Technical Department from November 2015. Huw also became a member of the Senior Management Team at that time.

Prior to working with Natta, Huw worked at Network Rail for five years, starting on their graduate training scheme.  During that time, he worked on many civil engineering projects including secondments to Skanska; working on the channel tunnel rail link at Stratford and within the design office of Tony Gee and Partners.  Huw has been a Chartered Civil Engineer since 2007.

Huw commented, “I’d like to thank the Whelan family for this opportunity. I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as a Director of Natta Building Company at this time of continued development and growth. I look forward to the challenges and exciting times that lie ahead and to working with everyone at Natta in developing and delivering the company’s strategic plan.”
